Mozilla Firefox 5 beta hits Android Market with Do Not Track mode
Mozilla Firefox 5 beta has hit the Android Market, bringing performance improvements and a ‘Do Not Track’ mode
Mozilla’s Firefox 5 has hit the Android Market, bringing with it some much needed speed improvements and a few notable features, such as the new ‘Do Not Track’ mode.
The news comes via PhanDroid who reports that Mozilla has made ‘several enhancements to improve performance, such as panning speed and CSS3 animations, as well as overall speed improvements in webpage loading.’
But perhaps the most notable addition in Firefox 5 is the new Do Not Track mode, which essentially allows users to opt-out of behavioural tracking, which is always a nice feature to have at your disposal.
We’ve already downloaded and fired up Firefox 5 beta on our Android 2.3 device and from what we can see, there are certainly some notable speed improvements and panning does seem marginally smoother – although it’s nothing to write home about just yet.
The cool tabbed-window view is still there, which we’re glad about, as is the syncing feature with your desktop PC.
Users can also add-on widgets to Firefox 5 as well. At present, though, there isn’t that much to choose from. But all the big players are there – Twitter, Wikipedia, Facebook etc.
Mozilla Firefox 5 beta is now available for download in Android Market and it’s free, so why not give it a try and see what you think.
